Alphabet

In Kindergarten we also learn the alphabet in Maltese for us to be prepared for Year 1. Like the numbers we do not write the letters, we learn to recognize them & also learn them by feeling them on corrugated paper, sand paper & other feely materials. We write the letter with our finger in sand, rice, with a paintbrush with water in the yard, on the interactive whiteboard & with thick crayons. That way we learn how to write letters without using pencils.
We associate each letter we do with the topic that we are talking about. During the first week of October we learned the letter "j" since we were doing the topic "jien".
